The End of the Day

Traversing the land
Without a reason
To the darkness approaching
Sooner than we had expected

Yet it did appear,
Streaking across the sky
A glowing pink
Chased by a denim
Filled with ripples

Brightened only by streaks
Of wakening blue and faded white

By bulbs getting ready to give their all
To break the path that no-one goes again

After the day called its farewell.

Navigating Compassion

North I cannot go
That is the way to sorrow

So is moving to the East
I’ll rather go where it hurts the least

The South is not where I can travel
I don’t want that direction for me to unravel

Left over is the very West
It seems the option that is best.

To watch the sun go down
While trying not to drown

But to know as the sky turns ashen
That the sun will rise again
A new chance to reduce the pain.
All I need is to navigate with compassion.

Nightlife

The sound
Of my boots
Clangs off buildings

Muffled, drowned out
As I make it rain a little harder
On the pavement

So loud
The sound reverberates
Inside

Like a blank sheet of paper
Sticky from the rain
Clashing in the winds

13 September 2021

The occasional lantern
In a lane of darkness
Passes by me

While the wild wind
Makes the bushes whisper
With voices heard a hundred times already

And sways me into alleyways
Where crammed between the bricks
I am nearly turned to stone

I’ve done things related to trains…

2 July 2021

I’ve done things related to trains

Today that I’d never done before.

Texting took my attention

I passed my stop

Drove further to a station

Further.

Got out on that station

I hadn’t seen it that often before

It was big, steamy of the trains

I got from 14 to 7

I’ll be home later now, but that’s

Okay, because

I’ve done things related to trains

Today that I’d never done before

And it was exciting.
